For some reason I can't shake the baby brain. Let me back track just a little for you...We moved into our house after the babies were born. Then we decided to do some minor remodeling which turned into two bathrooms being completely remodeled. I can promise you this is extremely difficult to do with two newborns even with the family help we were getting. On top of taking care of our babies I had a pretty long personal to do list including writing thank you notes from the baby showers (since I was on bed rest and extremely uncomfortable I decided to hold off on writing them - BAD IDEA), thank you notes from other baby gifts, and unpacking our house (finding clothes that would fit post pregnancy!).
Well 4 months later I am still writing thank you notes and unpacking our house. Here is where the baby brain takes over - I recently found a stack of thank you notes that had been written in February. Baby Brain is the reason I didn't remember to mail them. So I made the decision to go ahead and stamp them and get them in the mail ASAP even though I knew many referenced my newborn twins. I figured if I tried to rewrite them that it might not ever get done. So for all of you receiving very late thank you notes, please accept our belated but heartfelt thanks!!!

Diaper Genie Disaster
Since Rhythms on the River started up this Spring Tim and I have really been looking forward to taking the kids and getting out of the house. Its every Thursday evening from 5:30 to 8:00. We figured it would be nice to get out there, relax, feed the kids their dinner bottle, have a glass of wine with friends then go home. It seemed like such a simple thing considering how many people do it every Thursday. Well we had tried a few times and never actually got out of the house. Finally tonight we got the kids packed up (which is a feat in itself) and loaded into the car. We had one stop before heading to Rhythms...Women's and Children's to drop off diaper to be tested (that's another story in itself). The doctors office said it would take five minutes to drop it off. Well an hour and a half later the admissions people had not found the doctor's faxed paper work and had to call the doctor on call to rewrite the order. By the time I got the diaper in the right hands it was time to head home. Tim had been in the car with cranky babies the whole time. We drove straight home after laughing about us missing Rhythms yet another time.
Well...this is what we came home to:

This is exactly what you think it is...a diaper genie bag full of dirty diapers torn into a million pieces all over the hall floor, kitchen floor, and the back yard. We had pooped smeared all over the tile floors. Thank God Abi didn't take the diapers into the living room. Did I mention the second we walked in we had two screaming babies and a dog scared to death of us.
Tim had emptied the diaper genie before we left and put it with the other trash bags by the back door to put out later. Well Abi was obviously not happy that we didn't take her with us.
Oh the fun we have!

It's amazing what can be done in one day when your in-laws are in town!!
Mrs. Wanda is a doer! She likes to get things done when she is in town. I used to be a doer, but now I am a sleep deprived mom! When we moved in a avoided all boxes filled with unnecessary items - ie. China and Crystal!
Well all of the boxes marked dining room had made their way into Tim's office. It was time to get them out but I just haven't had the time. In one day we were able to knock it out. Thank goodness for Mrs. Wanda.
This is what a china cabinet from your grandmother is supposed to look like:
