Hamming it up for Aunt B

The Ryan's are back from their vacation and the May Flowers are finally better from their nasty cold, so it was time for some much needed playing with Aunt B!  I of course had to take a million pictures while we played.  Enjoy!
Tasty block
Aunt B! I am so happy to see you!
Hmmm...I think I caught something!

How do I get these things on my head?
Cool Riggs rockin' the shades.
Me too!
Doo...doo...doo!
Decisions, decisions!
I guess I will pick this pair.
Argh!  No this pair!
What a princess!

Merry Monday

Today the babies have been perfect angels. It really has been a great Monday. I have gotten behind with a few of my chores and I think they knew it!!

This morning after breakfast we played (I cleaned) in the playroom. It's been needing to get things back in order! I even got to wipe down most toys with antibacterial wipes. They both took 1.5+ naps this morning. I was able to get laundry done, make the grocery list, clean the kitchen and get their lunch cooked. Then Aunt B was kind enough to watch them while I ran to the grocery.

Once I got the kiddos from the car and the groceries unloaded they were ready for another nap! They both went down super easy then slept! Avery took an hour nap and Riggs had another 1.5 hour nap! During nap time I was able to get dinner made and all of the groceries put away.

I sure do like it when I can be productive!!!

Cabo Vacation Part Two

I must admit this has been a very relaxing trip.

Tim taking pictures without telling me.
Tim posing for his pictures.

Do you think Tim is relaxed?

The pool was a little too cold for me.

Happy Valentine's Day - Dinner at Edith's in Cabo

After a very relaxing Valentine's Day we decided we should in fact go out to dinner. Tim called the concierge to see if he could get reservations at Edith's, well it was a 9:45PM reservation. We took it. Tim suggested I get a nap in :) before dinner.

We had a fabulous time at dinner. The atmosphere is very unique and very lively! They obviously don't get rain in these parts often because the restaurant is made up of open air huts. They have beautiful lanterns hanging to add to the atmosphere.

Tuna Tartar appetizer
The Special of the evening: Lobster, Fish of the Day (Tuna) and the largest shrimp I have ever seen!
Tim also ordered the special but with the steak instead. You can imagine we were quite full after dinner!
Not sure that Tim planned this ;) but the mariachi band did serenade us!

Happy 7th Valentine's Day to my amazing husband!

Cabo Vacation Part One

Thanks to Dearie, Nana, Pop Pop and Auntie (with help from Tarah) we were able to take a little getaway!! I have definitely forgotten what it is like to relax. Its almost difficult for me because I feel like I should be doing something else besides just laying around sun bathing. This usually results in me wanting to chit chat with Tim while he's in the middle of a good part in his book.

We were lucky to have booked our trip through Houston because Dallas got record snowfall. Lafayette even got snow! We couldn't have chosen a better weekend to get out of town. Hopefully it will warm up for all the Mardi Gras festivities.

Cabo is beautiful. We are staying at the Westin resort which is located between Cabo san Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. The Westin is a massive resort which we are slowly learning our way around. The only true downside with the resort is the massive convention (for the German company Henkel) they had the first two nights we were here. Large, loud, outdoor festivities, that interfered with Tim's late night balcony time reading (again) his book.

Kids are welcome here, and surprisingly we have enjoyed seeing the kids playing in the pool. Obviously this is because we miss our babies. Not to worry I have picked up a few Mexican mementos that I hope they really like.

We didn't do much our first afternoon. Just enjoyed cocktails and an early dinner at Nick San in San Jose. The sushi was FABULOUS! We were there a little early and got to sit at the sushi bar with the head chef. He just created things for us. They were oh so delicious. I even ate octopus! (A little chewy for my tastes).

For our first real day we enjoyed some time lounging by the pool, a little workout in the gym, lunch and then some sightseeing! We headed to Cabo san Lucas to walk the streets. The weather was of course perfect. Beginning with the shuttle from the hotel to Cabo (which was manned with guys selling time shares relentlessly), we were attacked constantly by the peddlers and hustlers! I thought Timmy might just lose it. After a couple of hours we stopped for drinks at a Marina bar, visited with an interesting couple then had to get dinner.

We thought we should try the Nick San in Cabo san Lucas ;) The sushi here was also delicious...however our chef at the sushi bar was a little busy with the other patrons. I did love the local tuna, wahoo.

Timmy, staying plugged in with work :(
Cabo Marina. Behind us (not pictured) are dozens of guys selling cheap jewelry.
boats, boats
barometro was a neat little outdoor bar on the marina. genuinely neat setup, but the music was a mix of techno, 80s, and 70s disco. They would have done better with some low key jazz or something.
¿Me das otra cerveza?
The corks here are huge.

relaxation incarnate, for the first time in a long while
all smiles
Hola! Mi vino es excelente.

Mexican sushi chefs move fast!

Tuna and avocado on the outside, shrimp tempura on the inside. Quite tasty.
